After a brief chase, Aemond and Lucerys completely lost control of their dragons, Vhagar killed Arrax and sent him and his rider into the sea. Their devastating and shocking deaths paved way for the Dance of the Dragons.
By the time she dies, Vhagar will have killed three Targaryen riders and their dragons: Lucerys and Arrax, Rhaenys and Meleys, and Daemon and Caraxes. The majority of the Targaryens' dragons die in the Dance of the Dragons, and Vhagar and Aemond are responsible for several of the most brutal killings.
Vermithor is known for his fierce nature, huge size, and appealing bronze scales. The dragon has a history of dominating battles, which makes Vermithor worthy enough to face off against Vhagar, and possibly defeat her.
Unwilling to die in bed, she stumbles outside to find Vhagar, before giving the command "Dracarys." Vhagar hesitates, unwilling to burn her rider despite her repeated pained commands. Eventually, she complies and unleashes her dragonfire, incinerating Laena to prevent a more drawn out and painful death.
Caraxes locked his jaw around Vhagar's neck, while Vhagar clawed at Caraxes' abdomen and tore off his wing. When Daemon jumped onto Vhagar and drove his sword into Aemond's remaining eye, all four crashed into the water. Nobody survived, including Vhagar.
Vhagar and Aemond Encounters 3 of Rhaenyra New Dragons House of Dragon Season 2 Episode 7 Ending
Can vermithor beat vhagar?
Vhagar is roughly 30% bigger than Vermithor, which shows how impressive the dragon claimed by Aemond Targaryen is. In a scenario where both would be in their prime around the same age, Vhagar would beat Vermithor relatively easily. However, when considering their different ages, Vhagar would struggle against Vermithor.
Vhagar died in a battle with Caraxes, who was younger and smaller than Vermithor. Vermithor died in battle with Seasmoke and Tessarion, both were among the youngest and smallest fighting size dragon at the point of Dance of the Dragons.
Caraxes: Caraxes killed Vhagar. That makes Caraxes' score 1. This kill is most impressive because Vhagar was the largest dragon in the World at that time. The battle ended with both Dragons killed even though Caraxes died after Vhagar.
Daemon then leapt from his dragon onto Vhagar and stabbed his nephew in his good eye with the Dark Sister sword, killing him instantly. This, in turn, led to both of the dragons falling into the lake below, killing Vhagar and Daemon.
Daemon Targaryen chose to claim Caraxes instead of Vhagar for several reasons, primarily related to personal preference, emotional connection, and the circumstances surrounding the dragons.
Caraxes wouldn't survive Vermithor. Cannibal would certainly be interesting, but we don't really know enough about him. we might not even get him on the show. Meleyes would certainly run him close.
Vermithor torches most of the unfortunate bastards, swallowing them like blackened marshmallows. Despite the bodycount, Rhaenyra's MrBeast-esque challenge does yield results, as Vermithor and his lady dragon, Silverwing, are claimed by two of the bastards—Hugh Hammer and Ulf White, respectively.
Following Hugh's death and the assassination attempt on Vermithor, the dragon engaged in a fight with Seasmoke and Tessarion. Seasmoke was ridden by Addam Velaryon, Rhaenyra's most loyal fighter, and Tessarion was riderless since Daeron Targaryen had already died.
According to Fire & Blood (the extremely lengthy source material for House of the Dragon), Daemon dies after an epic dragon fight with Prince Aemond… who also dies, womp. TL;DR: Daemon's spending his time trying to find/kill Aemond, and they eventually have a confrontation. Aemond's iconic words upon seeing his uncle?
I think the Cannibal could take down Vhagar. It would not end well for him but I don't think it would for any dragon. I'd give him worse odds than Caraxes, Meleys, and Vermithor but I think outside of those three he would have the highest chance.
Caraxes latches onto Vhagar's neck while Vhagar tears open his stomach, and the two dragons plummet toward the lake. But before they crash, Daemon Targaryen leaps from the saddle and stabs his Valyrian steel sword, Dark Sister, through Aemond's blind eye, killing him.
All four were killed in the ensuing Battle Above the Gods Eye, when the dragons locked together, Caraxes's jaws closed around Vhagar's neck, Daemon leapt from his dragon to Vhagar to put Dark Sister through Aemond's eye, and the dragons crashed into the lake.
At some point in the battle, Daemon, after his dragon Caraxes got heavily injured, climbed onto Vhagar, and drove his sword, the Dark Sister, through Aemond's empty eye socket. The two dragons collide with God's Eye lake, creating a towering splash. None of them survived the battle.
In the lore of George RR Martin's ``A Song of Ice and Fire'' and its related works, both Balerion the Black Dread and Vhagar are legendary dragons, but Balerion is often considered the stronger of the two.
During the fight that followed between them, Daemon jumped from Caraxes in mid air, and killed Aemond by stabbing him in the eye with Dark Sister. Both dragons crashed in mid air and fell to the lake, Vhagar drowned, Caraxes managed to swim ashore, and died sometime later, while the body of Daemon was never found.
But, this is a double edged sword, as her age and size reduces her speed and mobility, which would prove fatal, as we can see that Caraxes got the upper hand in the Battle above God's Eye due to this. Caraxes, even though bigger than most of the other dragons in HOTD, was only half the size of Vhagar.
Syrax died during the Storming of the Dragonpit, but Martin's stories have featured characters arguing about the actual cause of Syrax's death. The tales involved an axe, Valyrian steel swords, and even Shepherd taking the dragon down himself. The important point was that Rhaenyra's dragon was gone.
During the Dance, Daemon atop Caraxes and Aemond atop Vhagar clash above the Gods Eye lake, located south of the Trident. Vhagar tears off Caraxes' wing with her teeth and claws his belly open, while the latter has his opponent in a chokehold. Caraxes and Vhagar die, and so do their riders.
Things only get worse when Aegon straight-up has his dragon Sunfyre kill and eat Rhaenyra—in front of her last remaining child Prince Aegon the Younger.
